More Than Just Relaxation

Massage at our practice is designed to do more than help you unwind, though it does that well, too. Each session is built around your specific goals, whether that’s recovering from an injury, managing chronic tension, supporting a pregnancy, or maintaining the physical baseline that lets you move through life without restriction. Here’s a closer look at the techniques we offer.

Therapeutic Massage

General-purpose massage focused on addressing physical concerns rather than relaxation alone. Techniques are selected based on your health history and goals. Best for ongoing discomfort, post-injury recovery, and stress-related muscle tension. Works especially well alongside chiropractic adjustments. Not recommended over areas of active inflammation or without physician clearance for certain cardiovascular conditions.

Sports Massage

Targeted work designed for athletes and active individuals. Combines compression, friction, and assisted stretching to prepare muscles for output or aid recovery. Best before or after athletic activity and for overuse prevention. Not recommended immediately after an acute injury without a proper assessment.

Deep Tissue

Slow, deliberate pressure into deeper muscle layers to release chronic tension, adhesions, and holding patterns that lighter work can’t reach. Best for persistent tightness, postural issues, and areas with a history of injury. Not recommended over bruised or inflamed tissue, or for those on blood thinners.

Trigger Point Therapy

Sustained pressure applied to specific points of muscular hyperirritability that refer pain elsewhere in the body. Best for chronic headaches, neck and shoulder tension, and referred pain with no clear explanation. Not recommended over acutely inflamed tissue.

Myofascial Release

Gentle, sustained work targeting the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles, to release restrictions that limit movement and generate widespread discomfort. Best for fibromyalgia, postural imbalances, and those who haven’t responded well to deeper pressure. Not recommended over open wounds or healing fractures.

Prenatal and Postnatal Massage

Massage that’s adapted for the physical demands of pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Positioning, pressure, and technique are modified to keep mother and baby safe and comfortable while providing meaningful relief. Available in any trimester with physician clearance. Sheila creates custom product blends for each prenatal session, selecting only what’s safe and appropriate. Not recommended for high-risk pregnancies or without physician clearance.

Reflexology

Pressure is applied to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears that correspond to systems throughout the body. A gentle, non-invasive complement to other modalities; particularly well-suited for clients who prefer a lighter approach.

Cupping Therapy

Suction cups lift tissue and increase circulation by creating negative pressure rather than applying it. Good for stubborn tension and areas that haven’t responded to traditional pressure-based work. Ciara incorporates cupping into appointments when it fits the client’s needs. Temporary marks are normal. Not recommended over broken skin or for those with certain bleeding disorders.

Assisted Stretching

Therapist-guided movement through a joint’s range of motion in ways that are difficult to achieve alone. Improves flexibility, reduces stiffness, and supports joint health. May be incorporated into a massage appointment or scheduled as a standalone session.

A Personalized Approach to Your Wellness

Every massage at Keystone Chiropractic begins with a consultation. We take the time to understand your health history, concerns, and goals before building a plan that fits you. Most sessions run 60 minutes, and your therapist will share techniques you can use at home to extend the benefits between visits.

Back massage

The Perfect Complement to Chiropractic Care

Dr. Nate regularly recommends massage alongside chiropractic adjustments. Massage prepares soft tissue for an adjustment and helps the body hold the changes it creates. Together they can:

  • Enhance the effectiveness of your adjustments
  • Reduce muscle tension and promote relaxation
  • Improve circulation and accelerate healing
  • Increase range of motion and flexibility

Scheduling That Fits Your Life

Massage is most effective when it’s consistent. The deeper benefits—better sleep, lower baseline tension, faster recovery—come with regular care over time.

Memberships start at $79 per month and include a monthly session, priority scheduling, and member-only perks. Ideal for anyone who wants massage to be a regular part of their self-care.

Session packages are available in sets of 3, 6, or 9 and offer discounted rates without a monthly commitment—a flexible way to stay consistent while working toward a specific goal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from Dr. Nate to book a massage?

No referral is needed. You’re welcome to book a massage session directly, whether you’re an existing chiropractic patient or coming in for massage only.

How do I know which type of massage is right for me?

Your therapist will walk you through that during your consultation at the start of your appointment. Come with a general sense of what’s bothering you, and they’ll take it from there.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your goals. A single session can provide noticeable relief, but ongoing concerns typically respond better to a consistent schedule. Your therapist can make a recommendation after your first visit.

What should I do before my appointment?

Drink plenty of water, avoid a heavy meal right beforehand, and arrive ready to share any areas of concern with your therapist. That’s really all you need to do.

Will the massage be painful?

Some techniques, like deep tissue and trigger point therapy, involve firm pressure that can feel intense in the moment. Your therapist will check in throughout the session and adjust based on your feedback. Communication is always welcome.
