Gonstead Chiropractic in Gahanna
No two people walk into our office with exactly the same problem, and they shouldn’t receive the same adjustment. Gahanna chiropractor Dr. Nate Lorenz uses several chiropractic techniques to tailor care to each patient. One of his primary approaches is the Gonstead Method. This hands-on system uses a detailed evaluation to identify areas of the spine that may not be moving as they should before delivering a specific adjustment.
Dr. Nate has used the Gonstead approach throughout his years in practice, combining his training at Palmer College of Chiropractic with his experience caring for patients since 2007.
“I like Gonstead because it’s specific. The goal isn’t to adjust everything just because you can. I want to figure out where the problem is, understand how it may be affecting the way you’re moving and feeling, and then make the adjustment where it’s actually needed.” — Dr. Nate
What is the Gonstead Method?
The Gonstead Method is a chiropractic evaluation and adjusting system that emphasizes specificity. Dr. Nate considers your spine, posture, movement, and symptoms to identify joint restrictions or mechanical issues that may be related to your concerns.
Your evaluation may include a physical examination, palpation of the spine, and X-rays when clinically appropriate. These findings help him determine an appropriate approach to care.
When a Gonstead adjustment is recommended, we deliver it by hand to a specific joint using controlled force. You may hear a popping or cracking sound, or you may not. The sound comes from a change in pressure within the joint and isn’t the goal of the adjustment.
When May Gonstead Be Considered?
Because Gonstead focuses on spinal joint movement and biomechanics, it may be incorporated into chiropractic care for several musculoskeletal concerns, including:
A Personal Approach to Helping You Move Better
Dr. Nate is a second-generation chiropractor and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) who has cared for the Gahanna community since 2007. He explains what he finds, how those findings may relate to your symptoms, and why he recommends a particular approach.
When appropriate, chiropractic adjustments may also be combined with physical rehabilitation, massage therapy, dry needling, or cupping based on your individual needs.
Could Gonstead Chiropractic Be a Fit for You?
You don’t need to know which chiropractic technique you need before coming to Keystone Chiropractic. Dr. Nate will listen to what’s been going on, evaluate your movement and musculoskeletal health, and recommend an approach based on his findings, your needs, and your comfort level.
